BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) –
Evan McElywayne, also known as “Big Mac” amongst his teamates and friends, officially signed his name on the dotted line to run track for WVU’s Insititute of Technology.
He has had quite the prolific carrer running for the Fighting Irish.
As he ran in 4 straight state championship meets. And even set a new school record in the 5k this season running 17 minutes and 38 seconds at the Adidas XC invitational in September..
When asked why he decided to commit to WVU Tech, he said he wanted to stay close to home so that he had the ability to spend time with his cat, Symba, as often as possible.
And along with competing for the track and field team at WVU Tech, he will also be majoring in chemical engineering.
