SAN ANTONIO — E-sports, digital art, gaming and food trucks. All of those and more will come together at the School of Science and Technology-Northwest’s STEAM fest on March 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The entire community is welcome to the school’s second annual event which combines engineering, rocketry, coding, art and other forms of technology in a hands-on STEM experience. The event is focusing on technology because they say kids in this generation are given rapidly-changing technology, and advancing it to the next level.
“It will be for art and for music. Since technology has evolved so much throughout the years, we wanted to have this event having a lot of more technology,” said technology teacher and robotics coach Minerva Carrasco.
“We really wanted to showcase what these kids have been doing the entire year. They were in gifted and talented programs,” said Kasey Tapia, a 6th grade teacher. “They are in robotics competitions. We also have them launching rockets. So that’ll be happening at this, steam fest as well.”
