As per reports, the increase in 5G download speeds may not be solely due to Qualcomm’s new 5G modem. Ookla’s list of the top five median 5G download speeds in the US for the third quarter does not include the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, both of which have the Snapdragon X70 5G modem. This hints that the 3nm A17 Pro chipset, exclusive to the non-Pro 2023 iPhone models, may play a role in the faster 5G download speeds.
