iPhone 15 preorders: Here are the deals from AT&T, T-Mobile and … – Morningstar

Free iPhones are possible — but with qualifications around models, trade-ins and plans
Apple Inc. announced its newest iPhones earlier this week, and fans of the device are moving ever closer to getting their hands on one.
While the iPhone 15 lineup doesn’t become officially available until Sept. 22, preorders for the phone began earlier Friday. The new iPhones all are faster than their predecessors and pack camera improvements.

Those interested in the base-level iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will get to take advantage of the Dynamic Island, a way to make the "notch" area more functional. This feature was available on Apple’s (AAPL) premium iPhone models last year but not on the base versions.
Would-be iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max owners will see those phones become lighter than their predecessors thanks to a new titanium casing. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will have enhanced telephoto technology supporting zoom up to five times, as compared with three times previously.
All of the new iPhones will have USB-C charging.
Apple dropped the 128GB storage configuration for the Pro Max lineup, so the cheapest phone in that lineup will set you back $1,199 and pack 256GB of storage. The company kept prices the same as with the iPhone 14 line for its other three models: The iPhone 15 Pro will start at $999, the iPhone 15 Plus will begin at $899 and the iPhone 15 starts at $799.

As always, carriers will be offering deals to entice device upgrades. Here are the offers from the major U.S. wireless carriers: AT&T Inc. (T), T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS), and Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ)
AT&T
AT&T says it will offer new and existing customers up to $1,000 off the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max with a trade-in valued at a $230 minimum. For the iPhone 15 series, the company is offering up to $830 off with a minimum trade-in value of $130.
The offer is valid for users on eligible installment plans and will be distributed through bill credits.

T-Mobile
T-Mobile is offering a free 128GB iPhone 15 Pro or up to $1,000 off any iPhone 15 device with eligible trade-ins for those on its Go5G Plus or Go5G Next plans. The deal comes through bill credits.
The company is also offering up to $650 off iPhone 15 devices for those on Magenta Max plans who do an eligible trade-in, as well as $350 off for those on Go5G and Magenta plans.
T-Mobile says it will give $700 off a second iPhone for customers who get an iPhone 15 and also add a line to "almost" any of its plans.
Verizon
Verizon says it is offering new customers a free 128GB iPhone 15 Pro or up to $1,000 off a phone from the iPhone 15 lineup if they trade in an older iPhone in any condition and get the company’s Unlimited Ultimate plan. The same offer applies to existing customers adding a new line to that plan.
Customers opting for Verizon’s Unlimited Plus plan can get up to $830 off an iPhone 15 device with a trade-in, while those choosing the Unlimited Welcome plan can get $415 off.
Existing Verizon customers can get up to $830 off an iPhone 15 model with certain trade-ins on qualified Unlimited plans.
Verizon is also offering its deals through promotional credits.
