BBC newsreader Gareth Barlow laughs off blunder introducing headlines – Yahoo News UK

BBC newsreader Gareth Barlow has poked fun at himself after he got confused introducing the news headlines.
The TV presenter slipped up as he opened the news programme but laughed off the blunder asking his 11.8k social media followers: "Can someone please remind me who’s watching the news…"
Barlow shared a clip of himself introducing the headlines saying: "Hello, I'm watching…"

He then stumbled: "I'm watching the BBC news… I'm Gareth Barlow. You're watching BBC News."
Barlow then smiled as he continued with the headlines.
One follower on X, [formerly known as Twitter], shared a clip of the song Sweet Caroline saying, "Watching me, watching you…"
Barlow replied: "Ok. That’s the best reply"
He also joked: "Keeping everyone, inc the viewers, on their toes."
Huw Edwards was once caught in the studio wiping crumbs from his mouth before confessing he had been eating his breakfast at his desk.
He told viewers: "I’m going to admit to you I’ve just had a little bit of croissant.
"So I’m just finishing it and I’m ashamed to say that but there you go. It’s 20 to six in the morning…”
Earlier this year BBC newsreader Lukwesa Burak kept her cool after the camera unexpectedly cut back to her while she was stretching her arms above her head.
The broadcaster introduced the Across The UK segment but a glitch meant the footage was cut off and cameras immediately cut back to the studio.
Burak styled it out and quietly watched the clip on her desk while the audio played before moving on to introduce the next story.
And BBC newsreader Ben Brown was once caught yawning during the news.
Meanwhile BBC Breakfast weather presenter Carol Kirkwood saw the funny side after she made an embarrassing slip of the tongue on air.
Kirkwood left viewers laughing after saying there were “lots of doggers” in Greenwich Park.
She quickly added: "Not doggers of course, lots of dog walkers and joggers around here through the course of this morning."

Kirkwood later tweeted: "That will teach me to try and say joggers and dog walkers in the same sentence!!! Sorry!"
