Dubai Digital Cloud: world-leading digital infrastructure – Atalayar EN

Dubai Digital Cloud, inaugurated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, aims to provide a unified data storage, analytics and management platform for the Emirate’s government entities.
As part of the rubric event, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, had the opportunity to witness the signing ceremony of partnership agreements between three leading digital entities Digital Dubai, the government initiative promoting the city’s digital transformation; Microsoft, the multinational technology company; and Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (PJSC), which provides innovative energy and infrastructure solutions. The aim of these agreements is to implement the Dubai Digital Cloud project.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said the project is part of Dubai’s efforts to achieve digital transformation and foster innovation.
“Dubai remains steadfast in its commitment to foster excellence and innovation in the use of advanced technologies to accelerate Dubai’s digital transformation (…) to make the city the epicenter of the global digital economy. In addition to supporting economic growth, Dubai’s accelerated digital transformation seeks to further increase the efficiency of government operations and the quality of life of people in the emirate,” he said.
He added that the project will also help Dubai achieve its sustainability goals by reducing the carbon footprint of its IT operations.
The project is to create a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure in Dubai, based on the most innovative cloud solutions, to deliver government services in an efficient, reliable and agile manner. In this way, it seeks to improve the experience of citizens and businesses by reducing waiting time, increasing quality and reducing service operating costs. The project also includes information protection and cybersecurity as key aspects, through the application of rigorous standards and policies that guarantee the security of data and transactions. With this project, the aim is to boost the development of Dubai’s digital economy and facilitate decision-making based on data and artificial intelligence.
The project is part of the UAE’s National Digital Government Strategy, which seeks to incorporate digital aspects into the government’s overall strategies with broad cross-sectoral engagement and buy-in. It is part of the Emirati Executive’s efforts to digitize the country and the Government, such as the Smart Dubai 2021 Strategy or the Dimensions of the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025, with the objective of “creating broad cross-sectoral Government commitment and buy-in to incorporate digital aspects into overall Government strategies.”
