Illinois Tech to Partner with Top Business School in India – Illinois Institute of Technology

Illinois Institute of Technology has successfully established a partnership program with a top business school in India, opening up progressive pathways for international students to earn their degree at the #1 tech university in Chicago.
Select students at the PSG Institute of Management (PSGIM)—a top private business school located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India—are being invited to apply to Illinois Tech for a joint graduate-level program starting this year.
Students in the program begin by taking nine credits in-person in the fall semester at PSGIM, and those credits are transferable to Illinois Tech. During the following spring semester, students will remain in India and take Illinois Tech courses online. Then, at the start of their second year of graduate study, they will arrive in Chicago to study at Illinois Tech in-person. The first cohort of the program is expected to graduate in May 2025.
The partnership will apply to three Stuart School of Business graduate programs: the M.B.A. in Business Analytics, the M.S. in Marketing Analytics, and the M.S. in Finance. These programs are also STEM designated, thus allowing graduates to be eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training for up to three years, which will enable them to explore career opportunities in their field of study.
M. Krishna Erramilli, director of graduate business programs and an associate dean at Stuart, noted that the school stands out internationally because of its STEM focus.
“It’s very unusual for a business school to have such a strong STEM focus across its programs, but we are unique in that the vast majority of Stuart programs are STEM designated. So we’ve become a very attractive partner to foreign universities, as their students find the opportunity to work in the United States for up to three years after graduation extremely compelling, as do their employers,” Erramilli says.
“With more than 80 percent undergraduate and 95 percent graduate job placement rates, and average starting salaries significantly above the national average, Stuart students benefit from incredible preparation and outcomes,” says John and Mae Calamos Stuart School of Business Dean Endowed Chair Liad Wagman. “Stuart offers a slate of programs that uniquely bridge business and technology, drawing on a legacy of more than 125 years of business education at Illinois Tech. This exciting partnership with PSGIM expands our ability to reduce barriers and enable students to benefit from Stuart’s phenomenal programs.”
“PSG Institute of Management and Illinois Institute of Technology have curated three STEM-designated programs in analytics that will give aspiring managers the knowledge and skills required to make a difference in the tech-driven business landscape,” adds PSGIM director V. Srividya. “The program gives aspirants an opportunity to leverage the best of both worlds: study at a pioneering business school in an emerging market during the first year, and global exposure in the windy city during the second year. The program will power one up with a ‘learn-by-doing’ curriculum that is filled with research projects, internships, and more.”
“We look forward to welcoming our students from the highly reputable PSG Institute of Management and supporting their experience and success at Illinois Tech,” says Mallik Sundaharm, vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Illinois Tech. “Illinois Tech’s focus on experiential learning pedagogy engrossed with job readiness through the university’s one-of-a-kind Elevate program, where students are guaranteed opportunities for hands-on experiences and personalized mentorship, has historically helped our students succeed in their careers and beyond.”
