It’s no secret that wages in the coffee industry are low, especially at the two ends of the supply chain. We even recently published a pretty radical idea on how to boost wages: regulate coffee consumption by age like alcohol. There are other ways of course, like technology. And it is this intersection that Digital Coffee Future’s latest will explore in depth. Taking place October 25th and 26th, the Coffee Prices & Technology Summit: Trends, Margins and Pay Gap is an online event exploring ways technology can help create value across the coffee supply chain.
Over the course of the two-day summit, panelists and speakers from across the coffee industry will help identify and dissect the ways in which technological advancements can bring more transparency, and hopefully, more pay. Lecture topics include a primer on price trends and coffee price strategies. These will be supplemented by a handful of panels, including discussions of how fluctuations in commodity prices affect specialty coffee, the role of technology in cost of living and sustainable production, and what coffee can learn from other value chains. The summit will be rounded by a series of demonstrations showing how tech tools have improve the value in the supply chain.
Speakers include academics, global industry professionals, and entrepreneurs all deeply invested the topic of coffee and technology.
Tickets for the Coffee Prices & Technology Summit cost €35 ($37 USD) and are available for purchase via the Digital Coffee Future website. And like with prior DCF events, all discussions in the summit that take place in English will be translated into Spanish and vice versa.
